Established October 28, 1889, Goodwill Fire Company is one of nine fire departments in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. Station 4 is located at 212 Broadway and maintains firefighting and rescue apparatus that are staffed by a 100% volunteer force, providing Fire, Rescue & Emergency Medical Services. We are one of only two companies in Queen Anne’s County that maintains a paid ambulance crew. This service does not cost the citizens of Centreville or Queen Anne’s County any tax dollars and is paid for through billing when a patient is transported to the hospital. Firefighting and rescue equipment is purchased through donations from the community members that we serve.
The earliest photo of the fire company, probably taken around 1907-08 in front of Opera House, the second home of the company.
